Mean Machine - May 1st, 2008
Complete control behind the wheel
I thought I had my head above water on some of what is going on, then I remembered we haven't discussed a cover for the current issue. My initial reaction is to say "this is what happens when i take a couple days off." But, quite honestly, I'm certain it all would have happened anyway. So better I had a couple days with friends before wading into it.

Thought for the day:
Read, every day, something no one else is reading. Think, every day, something no one else is thinking. Do, every day, something no one else would be silly enough to do. It is bad for the mind to be always part of unanimity.
- Christopher Morley

P.S. Colony 5 is playing DC tonight at Exposure. They should be pretty awesome and I encourage you to attend, even if I don't make it. Frankly it's anyone's guess as to how I'll feel 8 hours from now. If I can't make it, do me a favor, and bootleg the show.

I don't think I own any Iron Man comics, but he's all over the TV, so it's kind of hard for a robot nerd to avoid interest.

I don't have any Iron Man toys either. Two fold reasoning most Marvel figures suck. Secondly as power armor goes, Iron Man - historically - is not very interesting. Now War Machine, there you start to catch my eye. But Iron Man? Meh.

So we all got together and watched Hardware on Saturday. It was pointed out that for his character Carl McCoy, who has a cameo at the beginning, only had to add a gas mask to his usual clothes.

As the Neph were much discussed last week, a friend asked me, "whats the deal with them anyway?" I've always thought of them as one of those groups that everyone puts on their interest list, whether or not they actually listen to them.

Q: Who do you like?
A: Oh the usual, Siouxsie, Bauhaus, Sisters, Fields...

I don't own a whole lot of their stuff, but I do enjoy them. And as they've been in my brainspace all week here's Filed's of the Nephilim Shiva; off the Moonchild (Longevity 12" single.
