The Codex Sinaiticus a 1600 year old, hand written, Greek copy of the bible is now online. There are high res, interactive scans as well as a trascription for each page.

Originally, The Codex Sinaiticus contained the whole of both Testaments. The Greek Old Testament (or Septuagint) survived almost complete, along with a complete New Testament, plus the Epistle of Barnabas, and portions of The Shepherd of Hermas.

In 1946, Salvador Dali and Walt Disney planned a cartoon together. But the short subject Destino was left unfinished after Disney and its partner, RKO, decided it probably wouldn't make any money.

But as David D'Arcy reports, Walt Disney regretted the decision. And Disney's nephew Roy Disney, who now heads the company's animation division, decided to revive the project. It was completed in 2003.

Destino is a six-minute film set to a Spanish song, devoid of dialogue and without a clear story line. It follows a dark-eyed ballerina on a journey among strange objects through a desert landscape in a dreamlike atmosphere.

Meant to post this last week, but the holiday got me all out of whack. I feel I should add that in six years of cartooning, this is the first time I've ever HAD to have an African American in the cartoon. I caricatured a few, specific, white men and women, and one asian man, but this is the first specific black guy.
