Haven't decided how I feel about the Obama Nobel thing yet. I realize it's going to make his job harder with the folks pictured in the bottom row (and frothing hatred here). But it's not like he can do right in their eyes anywho. The fact he's even used diplomacy changes the temper and the course the USA took for 8 years, and I can see the rest of the world digging that. As to if he's the most deserving person over the past year in the category I really can't say.

I always wondered why while I went to college in the snow belt my schools mascot was a giant orange. In fact the student center has an orange tree growing in the center. I didn't know this until my sophmore year I saw two maintenance workers picking fruit from the tree.
It all became pretty clear my junior year when I saw the large, faded, cartoon, Saltine warrior on the side f my apartment building and the the name "Orangemen" suddenly made sense. The Redskins want to keep their name, maybe they should just change their mascot... Maybe a giant Twizzler? Get a non-controversial mascot AND corporate naming rights! And from what I understand the 'Skins are all about money over fans anyway. Just a thought.
As for the 9/12 protests, it's shard to say much. At any protest it's the nutjobs that get all the air time. Well except when the police illegally sweep protesters and passerby's en masse. Haven't heard any reports of that, so congrats on not getting to see the inside of DC jails, I hear they suck.

I did a drawing similar to Milrath's back in '01, unfortunately my web archive only goes back to '02. I'm all with Bors on this. Hey Reid! I just got dropped from the dole this week, lets sell kidneys together! Plante, you're just hammering that nail on the head. Hall, again, bang on. Bennet, I have to disagree with you. At this point I think the 'Pubs have at least sharpened the pencil.

Ever want to punch Net Gingrich in his fat, lying, hypocritical face? Newt lying and misdirecting while Fox hosts suck his cock.
Gingrich is a lying, hypocrite, always has been for HIM to say Obama isn't being candid takes brass balls. Gingrich was in power during the Republican revolution. He could have shaped any kind of health reform he wanted. And what did he do? NOTHING. He blocked all of Clinton's plans and did JACK.
Lets take a few of his points.
Don't pay the crooks? Duh. Are you ssaying that Obamas plan has extra incentives for crooks? That's what it sounds like you're implying.
Electronic Health Records? Obama is already on this, indeed there is money for it in the stimulus package he lambasted.
Tax deductions? Really, I never would have expected THAT to be the Republican solution. If I'm broke or loose my job I don't have the money to spend on insurance to get the deduction in the first effing place. Indeed the "alternative plan" that the Republican party originally put forth had no details nor specifics other than "tax cuts n credits".
Republicans arguing for better science? These are the guys who think doctors and pharmacists should be allowed to refuse treatment to people because of their Religious views. These are the folks who ignored AIDS, because of the "moral majority" to which Gingrich subscribes. These are the folks who BLOCKED safe medicine for women while pushing through barely tested medicine for men (Plan B/Viagara) So remember, every time Newt Gingrich tells you something it's either a misdirection, if not a flat out lie. What makes it worse is that he was history professor. So he should know better.
